Mexican towns boost citizen participation: Green Party's new “Green Army” in Puerto Vallarta and clean‑up drive in Pu er

In Puerto Vallarta, the Green Party (PVEM) officially integrated its eighth local volunteer group, the “Ejército Verde,” adding to seven existing units across the city. More than 800 residents attended the ceremony, which featured party officials including architect Luis Munguía and municipal coordinator Paul Rodríguez. The new unit is part of the party’s national campaign to broaden grassroots membership and strengthen territorial organization.

Meanwhile, in Puerto Morelos, municipal president Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz led a “Chuleando tu Colonia” event in the Zetina Gasca neighborhood. Around 70 municipal employees and local volunteers worked together to clean public spaces, remove debris and discarded vehicles, and eliminate mosquito breeding sites. The program aims to foster a culture of shared responsibility for public areas and improve residents’ quality of life.
