Mexican towns launch programs to boost women entrepreneurs

In San Quintín, Baja California, the Center for Justice for Women (CEJUM) began the “Mujeres que Brillan” workshops in partnership with the state Secretariat of Economy and Innovation. Director Magdalena Bautista Ramírez said the training provides financial, commercial and legal guidance to help participants turn ideas into sustainable businesses, emphasizing economic autonomy as a way to break cycles of violence.

Meanwhile, the auxiliary board of San Francisco Totimehuacan in Puebla announced a series of employment fairs aimed at increasing job opportunities for women. Auxiliary president José Ángel Malaca Carbente highlighted collaboration with the Secretariat of Economy and Tourism and cited local statistics showing a large share of households headed by women. The initiative also targets youth employment and seeks to improve infrastructure and tourism to stimulate the regional economy.
