Pedro Sola faces legal complaints and public backlash over animal‑abuse remarks

Mexican TV host Pedro Sola sparked outrage after saying he wanted to throw poisoned meat at dogs in pet‑friendly venues and threatened owners who walk pets in strollers. The animal‑rights group “Va por sus derechos” filed criminal complaints with the Fiscalía General de la República and the Fiscalía General de Justicia de la Ciudad de México, accusing Sola of apologia to animal cruelty and public incitement to crime. A Change.org petition also called for the dismissal of Sola and co‑host Pati Chapoy and the cancellation of the program “Ventaneando”. Sola issued a public apology, citing his age, but activists and legislators urged the investigation to continue.

Additional allegations have emerged, including a claim by journalist Jorge Carbajal that TV Azteca staff are preparing a sexual‑harassment lawsuit against Sola. Rumors of his possible departure from TV Azteca were revived by comedian Carlos “El Capi” Pérez, while public figures such as Crista Montes defended him against online attacks.
