Mexican universities host cultural and academic festivals
Several Mexican universities are hosting major cultural and academic events. The Universidad de Guanajuato (UG) is holding its Agenda Cultura UG from September 7 to 13, 2026, as part of the Universiada Cervantina 2026. The programming includes film screenings, such as the documentary ‘La Cantuta en la boca del diablo’, workshops, reading circles, and the ‘21 Shorts México’ international short film festival in San Miguel de Allende.
Meanwhile, the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA) has launched its 31st University Fair on September 5 and 6. The event features over 300 activities designed to showcase the institution's academic, scientific, and cultural work to the public. Rector Juan Carlos Arredondo Hernández noted the fair's growth, highlighting that previous editions have attracted tens of thousands of visitors, serving as a bridge between the university and the local community.
