Mexican universities launch health and campus improvement initiatives

The Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP) has strengthened its collaboration with the National Public Health Service (SNSP) through the federal strategy ‘Más Comunidad, Más Salud’. This initiative aims to bring preventive health actions, vaccination, mental health support, family planning, and nutrition services to both university students and local communities. The program utilizes students and professionals from psychology, nursing, and nutrition to address social determinants of health across seven sanitary jurisdictions.

Separately, the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS) has launched the ‘Reto Mejora’ program at its Southern Regional Unit. This initiative focuses on campus maintenance and environmental care, including classroom upkeep, gardening, recycling, and energy conservation. The program encourages active participation from students, faculty, and administrative staff to improve academic environments across several preparatory units in the southern region.
