Mexican universities launch psychological support brigades
Mexican universities are implementing psychological support programs through community brigades. In Puebla, the Universidad Anáhuac Puebla's School of Psychology launched an intervention project at the Ciudad Serdán Women's Penitentiary. The initiative involves faculty, psychotherapists, and students providing emotional well-being resources and self-care strategies to female inmates through trauma-sensitive dynamics.
In Tamaulipas, the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) has activated the fourth generation of its University Psychological First Aid Brigade at the Victoria Campus. This multidisciplinary network, comprising students, faculty, and staff, focuses on immediate emotional containment and primary intervention to prevent anxiety disorders and post-traumatic stress within the university community.
