Mexican universities strengthen ties with secondary education institutions

Higher education institutions in Mexico are strengthening ties with secondary education providers to enhance student preparation and professional outcomes.

At the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP), Rector Luis Ernesto Derbez Bautista met with directors from high schools in Puebla and Tlaxcala to foster strategic alliances. Derbez Bautista highlighted the university’s academic and cultural achievements, including infrastructure renovations and international recognition for its chamber choir and film students.

Similarly, Universidad Madero (UMAD) hosted an event for school counselors and directors to present new academic offerings. Academic Vice-Rector Beatriz Cruz Olivares introduced the implementation of microcredentials to certify specific competencies, aiming to boost student employability, which the institution reports reaches up to 70% generally and 100% in certain degrees. UMAD also announced new programs in Human Capital Management and Foreign Languages for Business.
