Mexico conducts nationwide National Military Service completion ceremonies

Various military regions across Mexico have concluded the second stage of the 2026 National Military Service (SMN) training. Ceremonies were held in several states, including Veracruz, Coahuila, Sonora, Tabasco, and Chihuahua, marking the completion of instruction for the Class of 2007, remiss conscripts, and female volunteers.

In Veracruz, the Navy reported that 39 personnel, including Marine Infantry sailors, completed training focused on naval legislation, human rights, and ethics. Similarly, in Coatzacoalcos, the Navy held a ceremony for 116 sailors. In Hermosillo, 179 participants finished a three-month program that included civic and moral instruction.

Other regional completions included 338 individuals in Ciudad Juárez, 187 in Tabasco, and various groups in Saltillo, Torreón, and Monclova. The training programs typically consist of 13 sessions covering military discipline, tactical training, and social work, aimed at fostering civic responsibility and patriotism among Mexican youth.
