Mexicana de Aviación adds ninth aircraft to fleet
Mexicana de Aviación has added a ninth aircraft to its fleet, an Embraer 190-E2 manufactured in Brazil. The new plane, which has a capacity of 108 passengers, arrived at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).
This expansion increases the airline's total monthly capacity to 57,020 seats, representing an 11.04% growth. The new aircraft is designed to be more efficient, offering up to 25% fuel savings, the ability to use sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and quieter engines to reduce environmental noise.
Since beginning operations in December 2023, the airline has transported over 1.1 million passengers across 17 routes. The company aims to continue its expansion, with plans to reach 12 aircraft by the end of the year and a goal to increase passenger numbers by an additional 600,000 during 2026.
