Mexico advances legal procedural reforms through academic and judicial initiatives
Legal institutions and academic bodies in Mexico are focusing on the implementation and analysis of new procedural codes. The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas will host its Fourth National Law Congress from October 27 to 30 in Ciudad Madero. The event, titled “Procedural Transformation in Mexico: Challenges and Paradigms of the New National Code of Civil and Family Procedures,” aims to update students and faculty on legal reforms through lectures and workshops featuring specialists involved in the reform process.
In Mexico City, the Judiciary of Mexico City (PJCDMX) presented a commented version of the National Code of Criminal Procedures. Led by Magistrate Rafael Guerra Álvarez, the project includes analysis of 490 articles based on the professional experience of 17 judges and members of the Judicial Administration Body. The digital version of this work is part of an institutional effort to modernize and digitize legal access, presented during the International Book Fair in the Zócalo.
