Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama launches road and park upgrades in Zona Maya

Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa began a 25.9‑kilometre rehabilitation of the road linking Federal Highway 295 with the communities of San José Segundo, San Felipe Berriozábal and San Ramón in the Zona Maya. The project, funded with about 9 million pesos, addresses a 15‑year backlog and is expected to benefit more than 4,000 residents by improving access to health, education and economic activities.

In the same period, Lezama and municipal president Mary Hernández inaugurated the renovation of the public park in the community of Señor, Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The 10 million‑peso investment, sourced from the Municipal Social Infrastructure Fund, added new playground equipment, a carousel, lighting, a refurbished kiosk, a concrete pergola and the preservation of the historic first well. The park upgrade is presented as a measure to strengthen community cohesion and provide safe, inclusive public space for families throughout the Maya region.
