Mexico: Allegations against Joselyn Hernández Jiménez labeled as false

María del Rocío Joselyn Hernández Jiménez has clarified that allegations linking her to corruption investigations against Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Governors Rubén Rocha of Sinaloa and Américo Villarreal are entirely false.

In 2023, Hernández Jiménez was approached by a non-existent company called Metra Aventures, which attempted to recruit her to fabricate corruption data. Two years later, journalist Anabel Hernández published claims suggesting Hernández Jiménez was a key witness in U.S. legal complaints involving these officials.

Discrepancies in the timeline show that Hernández Jiménez left her position as a social programs subdelegate in October 2019, well before the political campaigns mentioned in the allegations took place in 2021. She maintains that the narrative presented by various media outlets was a manufactured montage of falsified information.
