Mexico and Belize launch digital border crossing card

Mexico and Belize have introduced an expanded Digital Border Crossing Card program designed to facilitate travel and strengthen binational cooperation. The new digital system aims to streamline transit for eligible Mexican nationals through one of the country's most active southern border zones.

Under the expanded program, eligible travelers can now visit throughout Belize for up to seven days. This is a significant increase from the previous three-day limit, which was restricted to the northern districts. The initiative is expected to bolster tourism, commercial exchange, and cultural ties between the neighboring populations.

The Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour in Belize is currently updating the application process to prepare for the full launch of the digital system. The program also allows for entry with private vehicles, provided travelers adhere to established authority regulations.
