Mexico and Chile Launch Municipal Aid Campaigns for Seniors and Children

The DIF Benito Juárez office in Cancún, Mexico, is running the "Abuelotón 2026" campaign to collect food, hygiene items and functional aids for elderly residents in priority need. Organisers aim to exceed 100,000 donated items, building on 36,000 collected in 2025, and will mark the effort with a symbolic first‑pitch at the Beto Ávila stadium on 4 August.

In La Cruz, Chile, the municipal Winter Club program provides a free, supervised holiday environment for 100 children and adolescents. Participants receive meals, transportation and a schedule of sports, cultural and recreational activities, including workshops, games and outings, to ensure safety and enjoyment during school breaks.
