Mexico and Club Remeros Salto achieve success in rowing competitions

The Mexican para-rowing delegation secured eight medals, including two golds, five silvers, and one bronze, at the Regata Internacional de Para Remo CDMX 2026. Valeria Hernández Salgado led the team with two gold medals in the PR1W1x category, winning both the 500-meter and 250-meter races. Other notable performances included Andrea Quintana, who earned a silver and a bronze, and the duo of Britani Gutiérrez and Benjamín Román, who took silver in the PR3Mix2x 1,000-meter event.

In Uruguay, Club Remeros Salto earned five medals during the final stage of the National Rowing Championship held in Mercedes. Despite facing challenges due to river flooding in Salto, which limited training opportunities, the club finished eighth in the general classification. Coach Frank Piñón noted that while the year has been difficult due to environmental factors, the team remains focused on the upcoming Uruguayan championship in Carmelo scheduled for late November.
