Colombia and Mexico announce US friendly match schedules

The Colombian and Mexican national football teams have confirmed their upcoming international friendly schedules in the United States for the September-October 2026 FIFA window.

Colombia will play a triple series of matches: against Mexico on September 26 in Baltimore, Paraguay on October 2 in New Jersey, and Peru on October 6 in Miami. These matches mark a new phase for coach Néstor Lorenzo following the 2026 World Cup. Speculation regarding player selection has emerged after promotional materials for the Peru match reportedly replaced James Rodríguez with younger player Gustavo Puerta.

Mexico will make its debut under new head coach Rafael Márquez. Due to scheduling conflicts with Liga MX's tenth matchday, an agreement has been reached to limit Márquez to calling only two players per club for his first match against Colombia in Baltimore. Mexico's tour will continue with matches against Peru in New Jersey, the United States in Arizona, and Chile in Los Angeles. The match in Baltimore has already seen high demand, with 50,000 tickets sold for the M&T Bank Stadium.
