Dominican Republic leads Group A in U-15 Baseball World Cup

The Dominican Republic U-15 national baseball team has secured first place in Group A of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup held in Mexico. Following a 7-1 victory over Japan, the Dominican squad finished the regular phase with a 4-1 record, advancing to the Super Round alongside Japan and Mexico.

In the opening phase, the Dominican team demonstrated significant offensive strength, including a 28-0 win against South Africa and a 14-4 victory over Germany. Key performers included Ángel Montás, who hit a two-run home run against Japan, and Axel Heredia.

Mexico also advanced to the Super Round after a 5-4 comeback victory against Cuba, finishing the group stage with a 4-1 record. The Super Round will feature the top three teams from Group A (Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Japan) and the top three from Group B (United States, Chinese Taipei, and Nicaragua). The upcoming schedule includes high-stakes matchups such as the United States versus the Dominican Republic, as teams compete for a position in the medal games.
