Mexico and Dominican Republic seize dozens of illegal slot machines

Federal authorities in Gutiérrez Zamora, Veracruz, Mexico, carried out a raid after a judge approved a search warrant. They confiscated about 30 slot‑machine units that were allegedly operating illegally and were being used by minors. The operation involved the Fiscalía General de la República, the National Guard, the Federal Public Ministry and the Army, and led to a temporary closure of part of Juárez Street while the machines were taken to custody.

In the Dominican Republic, police raids across the Greater Santo Domingo area, the Distrito Nacional and the provinces of San Cristóbal and Monseñor Nouel resulted in the seizure of 105 illegal gambling devices – 81 roulette machines and 24 digital slot machines – along with several modified motorcycles and a chassis that were suspected of being used for clandestine racing. The seized items were placed under the control of the appropriate authorities as part of a broader effort to combat illegal gambling and protect public order.
