Mexico and Dominican Republic women's squads to compete at Centrobasket 2026 in Nicaragua

The women's national basketball teams of Mexico and the Dominican Republic will take part in the 2026 Centrobasket tournament in Managua, Nicaragua, from 12 to 18 July. Both sides aim to finish among the top three to secure qualification for the 2027 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.

Mexico, coached by Cristhian Pardo, has opened its group with games against host Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. Leading the roster is forward Gabriela Jáquez. The Dominican squad, led by Cuban coach Alberto Zabala, will face the Bahamas on 12 July, Mexico on 13 July and Nicaragua on 15 July. The team includes standout players such as Esmery Martínez and Yennifer Jiménez. The tournament awards three AmeriCup spots, with the host El Salvador already qualified for 2027.
