Sheinbaum and Bukele Lead Latin American Leaders' Approval in New Survey

A recent CB Global Data poll of Latin American citizens ranks Mexico’s president‑elect Claudia Sheinbaum and El Salvador’s Nayib Bukele as the region’s most approved leaders. Sheinbaum holds a 65.1 % favorability rating with a 30.2 % negative perception, while Bukele leads with 67.4 % favorability and 28.3 % negative perception. Both saw modest declines from June.

The survey also places Costa Rica’s President Laura Fernández at third with 55.5 % favorability, and marks Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodríguez as the lowest‑rated, at 22.7 % favorability and 70.8 % negative. Peru’s interim president José María Balcázar registers 23 % favorability, and Guatemala’s Bernardo Arévalo and Paraguay’s Santiago Peña hover near the mid‑range. The report notes that Venezuela is still coping with devastating June earthquakes that caused nearly 5 000 deaths and thousands of injuries.
