Mexico and U.S. military strengthen strategic communication coordination
Military representatives from Mexico and the United States met on September 21 and 22 to strengthen strategic communication coordination. The meeting included officials from Mexico’s Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), and the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM).
Part of the Mutual Strategic Vision within the Bilateral Military Cooperation Roundtable, the sessions focused on enhancing institutional channels and coordinating the dissemination of joint military activities. The cooperation aims to improve mutual understanding regarding public affairs and strategic messaging between the two nations' armed forces.
This engagement follows established principles of reciprocity, shared responsibility, and respect for national sovereignty. Such bilateral mechanisms have been in operation since 2016, facilitating information exchange, training, and capacity building to address transnational threats.
