Mexico announces housing program and border time changes

President Claudia Sheinbaum announced the ‘Vivienda para el Bienestar’ program, which aims to facilitate housing access for low-income workers through fixed monthly credit payments. The initiative plans for the construction of 1.8 million homes for individuals earning less than three minimum wages. Of these, INFONAVIT will be responsible for 1.2 million units. The institute has already approved 502 housing complexes across 31 states for this year, with a capacity to build approximately 570,000 homes.

Additionally, seasonal border time changes will conclude on November 1 in specific northern regions. In the state of Tamaulipas, municipalities including Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa, and Matamoros will adjust their clocks back one hour to align with border regulations.
