Mexico arrests ‘El Chino’ in drug bust and homicide case

Municipal police in Irapuato, Guanajuato detained a 40‑year‑old man known as “El Chino” after officers found nine bags of crystal, nine bags of cocaine and eight bags of base‑precursor in his vehicle. The suspect, Javier, was arrested during a patrol on Avenida Insurgentes and José María Michelena and the seized items were turned over to authorities for further investigation.

In a separate operation in Jalisco, state police captured a suspect also identified as “El Chino” in connection with the murder of Wilfredo Reyes Herrera. The victim’s body was discovered in an overflowing canal in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga after being transported on a cart. Investigators used video‑surveillance analysis and drone monitoring to locate the suspect in an abandoned building, leading to his arrest.

Both arrests are part of ongoing efforts by Mexican law‑enforcement agencies to curb drug trafficking and violent crime in the region.
