Jalisco captures Iván Martín N, alleged co‑author of influencer Valeria Márquez’s murder

The Fiscalía General del Estado de Jalisco announced the arrest of Iván Martín “N” on 1 August 2026 in Zapopan. The operation, coordinated with the Mexican Army and the National Guard, followed a judicial arrest warrant and a simultaneous search of a residence in the San Juan de Ocotán colonia, where authorities seized two firearms (a .40 caliber pistol and a 9 mm pistol), several mobile phones and identification documents.

Martín “N” is accused of material participation in the femicide of 23‑year‑old influencer Valeria Márquez, who was shot dead during a live‑stream at the Bloosom The Beauty Lounge on 13 May 2025. Investigators say he was involved before, during and after the attack, helping the assailant and facilitating the escape using a motorcycle and a white car. The capture comes days after the arrest of Ramón Ángel “R1”, identified as the crime’s coordinator and linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

The case, which drew national and international attention, remains under investigation as authorities continue to seek other participants.
