Mexico arrests youths and private security guard over illegal firearms

In the city of OBR, police detained an 18‑year‑old and a 16‑year‑old who were found with a 9 mm pistol and a 12‑round magazine during a routine patrol. The weapons and the suspects were handed to the Federal Prosecutor's Office for legal action.

In Jantetelco, a 46‑year‑old man identified as a private security guard was stopped on the Mexico‑Oaxaca highway near the Cuatro Caminos crossing. Officers discovered an assault rifle and a pistol; the suspect could only prove legal ownership of the handgun. He was arrested and the firearms were turned over to the Public Ministry for investigation under the Federal Firearms Law.
