CJNG clandestine hospital dismantled in Jalisco
Authorities in Jalisco, Mexico, have dismantled a clandestine hospital in Tecalitlán allegedly operated by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). The facility was used to provide medical treatment and physical rehabilitation to cartel members injured during criminal activities.
The operation, a coordinated effort involving the Jalisco Prosecutor's Office, the National Guard, and the Mexican Army, was triggered by the disappearance of a 20-year-old man from Tlaquepaque in July. The man had reportedly been lured by a false job offer at a ranch.
During the raid, officials rescued eight men, aged between 16 and 43, who were being held against their will. The victims originated from various regions, including Mexico City, Guerrero, Michoacán, Sinaloa, and Jalisco. Six individuals, including five men and one woman, were arrested at the site and face charges of human trafficking and forced disappearance.
Investigators seized various items from the property, including medications, orthopedic boots, crutches, a scale, tactical gear, and approximately 100 high-caliber cartridges. Authorities are also investigating whether local medical personnel were involved in operating the clandestine clinic.
