Mexico Bienestar Pension and INAPAM discount updates
The Mexican government is continuing the distribution of Bienestar Pensions for the September-October period. According to the official deposit calendar, beneficiaries with last names starting with the letter ‘L’ are scheduled to receive payments on Friday, September 11. Payments are being distributed in a staggered manner based on the initial letter of the recipient's surname.
Separately, authorities have addressed misinformation regarding electricity discounts. Both the National Institute for Older Persons (INAPAM) and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) have clarified that the INAPAM card does not grant a 50% discount on electricity bills. CFE stated that any existing subsidies are strictly based on electricity consumption levels and geographic location, such as extreme temperature zones. Officials warned citizens against fraudulent social media advertisements requesting personal data, such as CURP or banking information, under the guise of these non-existent discounts.
