Mexico Carbon Forum 2026 opens in Aguascalientes

The Mexico Carbon Forum 2026 has commenced in Aguascalientes, gathering approximately 3,500 participants to discuss environmental and economic strategies. The event focuses on carbon markets, which assign economic value to the reduction of pollutant emissions, allowing companies with lower emissions to secure resources for technological and environmental investments.

Governor Tere Jiménez emphasized that economic growth and environmental protection can coexist, noting that carbon pricing is reshaping the global economy and creating opportunities for new markets, professional development for youth, and income for local communities.

During the forum, BioCarbon Cert presented innovations in sustainability, water management, and biodiversity. Alejandra Paredes Goicochea, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at BioCarbon Cert, highlighted that the dialogue regarding environmental markets—including water, plastics, and biodiversity—is a global issue that influences public agendas, corporate investment strategies, and long-term sustainability plans.
