Mexico celebrates cinema milestones: Nuestro Cine MX & French Film Tour

The Mexican Secretariat of Culture’s streaming platform Nuestro Cine MX marked its 11th anniversary, highlighting its role as a free public showcase for national cinema. As part of the celebration the platform offered a complimentary showing of Arturo Ripstein’s 1977 film La viuda negra at the Cineteca Nacional on 30 July 2026 and announced the addition of Roku devices to broaden access.

The French Film Tour, which began in 1997, commemorated its 30th year in Mexico. Organized by Nueva Era Films, Cinépolis, the French Embassy and the Federation of French Alliances, the tour will travel to more than 80 Mexican cities starting 10 September, featuring a new poster and a programme of contemporary French films.
