Various regions in Mexico are preparing for Janal Pixan and Day of the Dead celebrations through local festivals and contests aimed at preserving cultural identity.

In Campeche, the State Secretariat of Tourism has announced the 10th Annual Janal Pixan State Altar Contest. Scheduled for October 30 in the Historic Center of San Francisco de Campeche, the event invites schools, families, and institutions to participate. The contest offers prizes of up to 30,000 pesos to encourage the preservation of traditional customs.

In Puerto Morelos, Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz has invited residents and visitors to the ‘Mar de Almas’ Janal Pixan 2026 festival. The festivities will take place on October 24, and November 1 and 2.
