Mexico celebrates National Charro Day with regional parades

Various regions in Mexico celebrated National Charro Day on September 14 with parades and ceremonies to honor the country's equestrian traditions.

In San Martín Texmelucan, the municipal government organized a parade featuring members of the local Charro Association. The procession traveled through the city's main streets to promote the preservation of charrería as a vital part of national identity. Local officials attended the event, which concluded at the Complejo Cultural Texmeluquense.

In Mérida, Yucatán, the Union of Charro Associations of the State of Yucatán hosted a colorful parade along Paseo de Montejo. The event featured charros, escaramuzas in gala attire, and mariachi music. Organizers emphasized that charrería represents Mexican culture through music, craftsmanship, and attire. The state is also preparing teams for the upcoming National Charro Championship in San Luis Potosí this October.
