Aeroméxico passengers clash with staff at Mexico City airport
On 8 July, a group of Aeroméxico passengers were removed from a flight at Mexico City International Airport (Terminal 2) after staff said they were intoxicated and one passenger had damaged the aircraft. After being escorted off the plane, the passengers entered the airline’s waiting lounge and launched a violent attack on customer‑service staff, smashing furniture and wielding a metal stanchion pole.
Airport security and police intervened, and the airport authority requested the competent authority’s assistance. The individuals involved were taken to a civic court in Mexico City. The incident was captured on video, which quickly spread on social media. No further details on injuries or legal outcomes have been released.
