New Art Exhibitions Open Across Latin America in July

Several cultural venues in Latin America have launched new art exhibitions in July. In Argentina, the Escuela Municipal de Artes Plásticas “Juanita Briones” opened the community‑focused show “Arte y Comunidad,” running until 31 July and featuring student drawings, paintings and sculptures. Mexico City’s Museo Tamayo continued its exhibition “El gesto y lo invisible” through 26 July, showcasing works by Anthony McCall, Bruce Nauman and William Forsythe and reporting 82,160 visitors.

In Chile, the Casa de la Cultura in Machalí inaugurated “Figuras y vestigios” by regional artist Ariel Guerra Díaz, supported by the Rotary Club. A photographic retrospective by Isaac Llamazares opened in San Andrés del Rabanedo, Spain, from 20 to 26 July, highlighting local heritage and historic bodegas. Bogotá’s Museo Santa Clara presented “Concordancia vital: lo sagrado en María Teresa Hincapié,” a collection of performances, photographs and video works that will remain on view until 9 August. Finally, the municipality of Olavarría, Argentina, opened the “Analógica” exhibit by Cielo Mejías at the Dámaso Arce Museum, scheduled through July and August.
