Cold fronts trigger frost and rain alerts in Argentina and Mexico

A cold front moving across Argentina is bringing winter‑type weather. In Neuquén Province, the national Flag Day holiday on June 20 will see temperatures near freezing, wind, rain and snow in mountain areas, prompting travel advisories. The National Meteorological Service also issued agricultural frost warnings for the northwest, central and southern regions, stressing the risk to winter crops and open‑field farming.

In Tierra del Fuego, a yellow alert has been issued for persistent rain and mixed snow, with expected accumulations of 15‑30 mm and temperatures hovering around 3 °C.

Meanwhile, Mexico City’s risk management agency activated an orange alert for four southwestern boroughs (Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras and Tlalpan), warning of very strong rain and hail from the afternoon into the night, and a yellow alert for the remaining twelve boroughs.
