Mexico City art auction to fund pediatric cancer care in Cuba

More than 90 works of art will be auctioned on September 26 in Mexico City to raise funds for pediatric cancer care in Cuba. The initiative was announced by the Mexico Chapter of the Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity.

The proceeds will be used to purchase medicines, supplies, and medical equipment for oncological pediatric care. Organizers stated that the initiative addresses difficulties within the Cuban health system in accessing these resources, citing the impact of the United States blockade on the availability of medical supplies for minors.

The auction will feature works from both Mexican and Cuban artists, including oils, watercolors, landscapes, and sculptures. Notable contributors include Francisco Toledo, Antonio Bretón, and engraver Joel Rendón, alongside various emerging creators. The event will take place at the Casa Cuba Cultural Center.
