Mexico City Cablebús service suspended for maintenance July‑August
The Sistema de Transportes Eléctricos announced that all three lines of the Cablebús in Mexico City will be closed for annual maintenance. Line 3 will be shut from 13 to 26 July, Line 2 from 27 July to 9 August, and Line 1 from 10 to 23 August. The STE said the work includes preventive and predictive maintenance on electromecanical systems, cabins, towers, brakes, bearings, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical components, as well as rehabilitation of balancines and cable inspections.
During the closures the city’s Red de Transporte de Pasajeros (RTP) will provide free support routes for affected riders. Specific RTP routes are listed for each line, ensuring alternative public‑transport options while the Cablebús is offline.
"A partir del 13 de julio comenzarán las revisiones anuales de las Líneas 1, 2 y 3," the agency noted in its release, urging users to consult the schedule and plan trips accordingly.
