Mexico's 2026 World Cup stadium works near completion

Mexico's Secretariat of the Environment (Sobse) has reported that the construction projects linked to the 2026 FIFA World Cup along the Calzada de Tlalpan in Mexico City are close to being finished. The works, which include upgrades to road infrastructure, water and drainage systems, and removal of old utilities, are part of the preparations for the tournament.

Despite the progress, some components of the project remain unfinished and may require additional time beyond the current schedule, as noted in local reports that the works are entering a "extra time" phase. No specific completion dates were provided, but officials emphasize that the majority of the work is on track for the event.
