Mexico Housing Program: Sheinbaum delivers homes and debt relief in Puebla

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum visited Puebla to advance the 'Vivienda para el Bienestar' (Housing for Wellbeing) program. During the event, officials reported the delivery of 32 new Infonavit homes, 301 INSUS deeds, and 657 Fovissste debt settlements.

The national housing goal has been increased to 1.8 million homes, with 30% progress reported. The administration aims to benefit 12 million families during the current six-year term. The strategy focuses on debt restructuring, housing improvements, and legal certainty, specifically targeting families with unpayable mortgage debts. Approximately 5 million families have already benefited from debt restructuring or liquidation under these schemes.

In Puebla, the specific goal is to provide 45,000 new homes through an investment of 30 billion pesos. The program mandates that housing units must be at least 60 square meters and include two bedrooms.
