Mexico City launches Nahui International Film Market
The first edition of Nahui: Mexico City International Film Market opened on October 12, 2026, at the Estudios Churubusco. The four-day event, running through October 15, aims to connect filmmakers with investors, production companies, and distribution entities to foster a sustainable audiovisual industry.
Supported by the Mexico City Ministry of Culture and PROCINECDMX, the initiative seeks to strengthen the city's role not just as a filming location, but as a hub for development, financing, and distribution. The market includes business meetings, financing rounds, workshops, and industry screenings held at various venues, including the Cineteca Nacional de las Artes and the Centro Nacional de las Artes.
During the inauguration, The Walt Disney Company Mexico and Blood Window announced a call for projects to develop Mexican miniseries in genres such as horror, science fiction, and thriller. Local officials emphasized that the project aims to promote narrative sovereignty and economic growth by creating jobs in sectors such as tourism, technology, and services.
