Mexico City launches real‑time Metrobús map as Metro Line 2 works cause delays

Engineer Helios Ocaña released an open‑source map that shows the location of every Metrobús unit in Mexico City in real time. The site adds a flash of light and a distinct organ‑pipe note for each line, letting users both see and hear the fleet’s movement. The map’s banner declares, “Lo que ves y escuchas está pasando ahora mismo.”

At the same time, Metro Line 2 remains partially shut for Olympic‑related construction, with six stations closed. Passengers report travel times that previously took 20‑30 minutes now exceeding an hour, especially on routes such as Taxqueña to Chabacano. Partial service resumed on three stations on Thursday morning, and additional shuttle buses have been deployed to ease congestion.
