Mexico City man killed in pitbull attack
A man died following a pitbull attack near the Indios Verdes transit hub in the Gustavo A. Madero borough of Mexico City. According to preliminary reports, the victim, who may have been in a vulnerable situation, approached a dog that was tied to a post and apparently disturbed it, causing the animal to react.
Emergency responders from the Escuadrón de Rescate y Urgencias Médicas (ERUM) arrived at the scene near Insurgentes Norte and Ticomán in the Residencial Zacatenco neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found the man unconscious with severe injuries, including a bite to the neck. Paramedics confirmed the man had died at the scene.
The Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) cordoned off the area and notified the Public Ministry to begin an investigation. The SSC Animal Surveillance Brigade has since taken custody of the pitbull, transporting it to their facilities for medical evaluation and treatment.
