Mexico City Metro Line 12 collapse hearing postponed

A judicial hearing regarding the 2021 Mexico City Metro Line 12 collapse has been postponed for a second time. The hearing, which involves eight defendants including former Metro Project Director Enrique Horcasitas, was rescheduled to November 26.

The delay occurred after defense attorneys argued they had not been provided with the full investigation file, requesting more time to review the evidence. The collapse, which occurred on May 3, 2021, between the Olivos and Tezonco stations, resulted in 26 deaths and over 100 injuries. Investigations into the incident have pointed toward structural failures and deficiencies in construction and maintenance.
