Mexico City Metro passengers filmed in physical altercations
Physical altercations involving female passengers have been recorded on multiple lines of the Mexico City Metro.
In one incident on Line 2, two women were filmed fighting by other passengers while the train was in motion. The confrontation continued as they exited the vehicle at the Popotla station, where they remained engaged in a physical struggle on the platform. The cause of the dispute remains unknown.
A separate violent encounter occurred on Line 9, within the area reserved for women. During this incident, two passengers engaged in physical combat. Although other travelers attempted to intervene and separate the individuals, the fight continued for several minutes.
Observers have noted that overcrowding and high passenger density during peak hours often contribute to tensions within the transit system. As of the latest reports, authorities have not confirmed whether security personnel intervened or if the individuals involved were detained.
