Mexico City rehabilitates commercial walkways in Cuauhtémoc

The Mexico City Government has completed the comprehensive rehabilitation of three commercial pedestrian walkways—José T. Cuellar, Lorenzo Boturini, and Juan A. Mateos—located on Calzada de San Antonio Abad in the Cuauhtémoc borough.

The project involved 840 square meters of work, including structural reinforcement, new electrical, hydraulic, and sanitary installations, and improved drainage systems. The intervention allowed for the reopening of 55 commercial premises. To address flooding risks due to the area's low elevation and groundwater levels, independent pumping stations were installed.

Additional improvements include new lighting, security shutters for shops, accessibility features such as tactile paving, and bicycle access. The project also incorporated 336 square meters of artistic murals to enhance the visual identity of the spaces.
