Gilberto Mora obtains Mexican voter ID after turning 18
Mexican football prospect Gilberto Mora, a midfielder for Xolos de Tijuana and the national team, recently visited an electoral module in Tijuana to obtain his first voter identification card (INE) after reaching the age of majority on October 14, 2026.
The National Electoral Institute (INE) highlighted Mora’s visit on social media, framing his actions as a “civic commitment” and an example for Mexican youth to participate in the democratic process. During the visit, Mora interacted with staff and citizens, posing for photographs at the service module.
Beyond his civic duties, Mora’s transition to adulthood coincides with a pivotal moment in his professional career. Having turned 18, he is no longer subject to FIFA restrictions regarding the international transfer of minors, opening the door for potential moves to European clubs. Reports suggest interest from major organizations such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool. His current market valuation is estimated at approximately 25 million euros.
