Mexico City nurse Fátima Ozoara found dead, suspect detained
Fátima Ozoara Cid Vázquez, a 20‑year‑old nurse who disappeared on 21 June 2026 after leaving her shift in the Álvaro Obregón district of Mexico City, was located dead on 30 June in the Ojo de Agua area of the Santa Martha‑Cuernavaca highway, within the municipality of Ocuilán, State of Mexico. The search, coordinated by the Fiscalía General de Justicia of Mexico City with the Search Commission of Morelos and authorities from the State of Mexico, followed protests that blocked the Periférico Sur highway demanding intensified efforts.

The Fiscalía has begun a femicide investigation, with forensic examinations underway to determine the cause of death and to solidify the criminal case.
