Mexico arrests several organized‑crime suspects in anti‑extortion raids

Authorities in Mexico carried out a series of coordinated operations targeting organized‑crime figures involved in extortion and related offenses.

In Toluca, the State Prosecutor's Office of Guerrero, working with the State of Mexico, the Federal Secretariat of Security and Protection (SSPC), the National Defense Ministry, the National Guard and the National Center for Investigation, apprehended José "N", alias “El Tucán”, for aggravated extortion against public‑transport workers in Acapulco.

In Mexico City’s Iztapalapa district, police detained a 50‑year‑old Colombian national linked to a criminal group responsible for robbery, extortion, narcotics trafficking and a theft that yielded over 1.5 million pesos in cash, jewelry and luxury items.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Tabasco executed six arrests of SSPC personnel accused of kidnapping and extortion, reinforcing the inter‑institutional Tactical Reaction Force’s anti‑crime efforts.

Separately, the Mexico City SSPC captured Carlos Ramón "N", known as “El Perrillas”, identified as a suspected hit‑man leader of the Tláhuac cartel, together with an alleged drug trafficker, seizing marijuana, a firearm and mobile phones.
