Mexico City to host Mexican Sweet Bread Festival in 2026

The first edition of the Mexican Sweet Bread Festival (Festival del Pan Dulce Mexicano) is scheduled to take place in Mexico City from Friday, September 11, to Sunday, September 13, 2026. The event will be held at the Monument to the Revolution esplanade in the Cuauhtémoc borough.

Following the recent declaration of sweet bread as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mexico City, the festival aims to celebrate the country's diverse baking traditions. The event will feature various master bakers and emblematic bakeries, offering a wide variety of traditional items such as conchas, cuernos, and polvorones. Admission to the festival is free.
