Mexico City weather forecast warns of thunderstorms and wind
Mexico City is expected to experience variable weather conditions, including heat, cloudiness, and significant precipitation. The Secretaría de Gestión Integral de Riesgos y Protección Civil (SGIRPC) has warned of potential thunderstorms and electrical activity.
Forecasts indicate maximum temperatures reaching 26°C during the day, with wind gusts from the north potentially hitting 40 km/h. Such winds could cause falling branches or objects, posing risks to pedestrians and drivers. Temperatures are expected to drop to approximately 14°C during the early hours of Friday.
Regarding volcanic activity, Popocatépetl is currently not reporting ash emissions. However, authorities noted that if emissions occur, the ash plume could move northwest and potentially reach parts of Mexico City. Residents are advised to monitor official channels and the Multi-Risk Early Warning System.
