Mexico City woman arrested for allegedly ordering vendor's murder
Authorities in Mexico City have arrested a 76-year-old woman, identified as Martha N, for allegedly ordering the murder of a street vendor in the Morelos neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc borough.
The investigation by the Fiscalía General de Justicia de la Ciudad de México indicates the crime stemmed from a dispute over the use of a shared courtyard in a residential building on Constancia Street. The victim, a vendor of miscellaneous goods, reportedly used the common area to store his merchandise, which caused friction with the suspect.
According to investigators, Martha N allegedly hired a group of men to attack the vendor. The victim was intercepted and killed through physical assault and the use of sharp weapons. Following the investigation, police located the suspect in the same area and transferred her to the Santa Martha Acatitla women's prison, where she remains at the disposal of a judge.
